N5 Course Overview

This course is designed for complete beginners who want to learn basic Japanese language skills, including reading, writing, listening, and speaking, to prepare for the JLPT N5 exam.

Module 1: Introduction to Japanese

  • What is Japanese language & JLPT structure

  • Basic greetings (Ohayou, Konnichiwa, Arigatou)

  • Introduction to Hiragana & Katakana

  • Pronunciation basics

Module 2: Hiragana Mastery

  • All Hiragana characters (あ–ん)

  • Writing practice & stroke order

  • Simple words using Hiragana

  • Reading exercises

Module 3: Katakana Mastery

  • All Katakana characters (ア–ン)

  • Loan words (foreign words in Japanese)

  • Reading & writing practice

Module 4: Basic Grammar (Part 1)

  • Sentence structure (Subject + Object + Verb)

  • Particles: は (wa), を (wo), に (ni)

  • Basic verbs (eat, go, see)

  • Simple present tense

Module 5: Basic Vocabulary

  • Numbers (1–100)

  • Time & days

  • Family & people

  • Common objects

Module 6: Basic Grammar (Part 2)

  • Adjectives (い & な adjectives)

  • Negative sentences

  • Question formation (か)

  • Demonstratives (this/that: これ、それ、あれ)

Module 7: Kanji for N5

  • Around 80–100 basic Kanji

  • Numbers, days, directions

  • Common verbs & nouns

  • Reading practice

Module 8: Listening & Speaking

  • Everyday conversation

  • Self-introduction (Jikoshoukai)

  • Asking & answering simple questions

  • Listening comprehension practice

Module 9: Reading Practice

  • Short sentences

  • Simple paragraphs

  • Signboards & basic notices

Module 10: Writing Practice

  • Sentence writing

  • Fill-in-the-blanks

  • Short paragraph writing

Module 11: Mock Tests & Exam Preparation

  • JLPT N5 format practice
